It’s crazy, on the verge of surrealism.
A little off topic. A friend of my sister is in the Army for 17 years. He is currently in Afghanistan on a peacekeeping mission. He has been told some of them will go to Syria??? If there are no boots on the ground, how will they go to Syria. The only thing I could think of was they would go on board ships in support of others (Navy, Air Force etc). If anybody can answer this I would appreciate it. My sister is freaking out over it. Thanks in advance.
Yes.....I’ve seen a lot of “surrealism” in Egypts war and Syria’s.....it is the nature of the ME playing field..
With BO not having a clear plan...let alone any exit plan if he strikes...and certainly not giving the American people any indication of what he’ll do if ‘full war’ breaks out...it’s no wonder even those protesting don’t know, or care, who prints their signs....
They estimate there are now 17,000 “Foreign” fighters in Syria.....that’s huge! They’ve been trucking them in all this time.
Why not?...The Saudi’s and other Arab nations can keep them occupied there and thus they won’t have to deal with them rising up against them...
It is a gameboard and they’re all using these terrorists....BTW when they return to their home country they are often killed. So these numb brains know the only way they live is to keep fighting somewhere.
Even in a “focused strike”...there are cia or boots on the ground to make certain of the targets.
As for your sister being upset her friend might go to Syria.......well, all the men in my family have served and it goes with the terrority of having soldiers in ones family. You never know where you may be called to go..but you go and family members deal with it among themselves.
I’ve read some 2 to thousands may end up over there....you have to remember..if Obma strikes...no matter how focused...he’s going to prepare for the worst possible retaliation...that could mean boots ont the ground.
That’s why he’s going to Congress IMO...getting their approval means he can enlarge and increase the objectives...and strikes..etc.etc.
Your friend needs to just remember this goes with the terrority of being a soldiers wife or family...and even friends...hard but that’s the price.
My son had special services... we never knew where he was or when he’d be back...and little lead time when called.
Thanks for the reply. As a Marine Mom (Ret. after 14 yrs) I am very familiar with the goings on of the military. I just didn’t get the whole thing about Obie saying NO boots on the ground. Airstrike only. But duhhh, he is the biggest liar going. Should have known better.
