Appearing on Meet The Press on Sunday, Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) slammed Secretary of State John Kerry on his willingness to intervene militarily in Syria by twisting his most famous words against him.
“I would ask John Kerry, How can you ask a man to be the first one to die for a mistake?” Paul said, in reference to Kerry’s famous words against the Vietnam War to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971.

IMO Let the Arab League and others in the ME nations handle the situation however they chose....as the US has no leverage , BO gave that away long ago.
The heavy hitters now are Saudi, Russia, and China and the Islamists....these powers will be making the strides now...

Reality..there is no “outside” solution for Syria...it's going to fight this for years...even Assad said early on this would be a ten year war...so he's understood from the get go this would continue.
The Arab league wants Assad out...so the fighting will continue.
Unless some nation determines 'to bomb Damascus' itself....or Assad destroys it himself when and if they breach his barriers..... I don't doubt either of those possibilities happening.
Either or Assad will fail in the long run....what comes out of it afterword won't be good.
Kurd in Syria states:
....”Not Assad, but the Islamists are now our biggest enemy... Assad only oppressed us. ...The jihadists want to exterminate us.”
