Marine Corps Special Operations troops are training in New Orleans area

The last time U.S. Special Operations troops trained in New Orleans, helicopters swooped in unannounced in the darkness over the downtown area, frightening residents whose nerves were already frayed by the Boston Marathon bombings earlier that day. This time, the training hasn’t had the same effect.

The U.S. Special Operations Command confirmed Tuesday that Marines and sailors assigned to the Marine Corps Special Operations Command have been undergoing urban warfare training in the area since Aug. 19. The exercises, which were not publicly announced beforehand, are scheduled to end Friday.

The military is not saying where the exercises are taking place, other than that they’re happening “at remote locations in and around New Orleans” and involve certifying Marine Corps Special Operations Command units for involvement in the war on terrorism.

Local authorities are aware of the exercises, according to a statement released Tuesday by the U.S. Special Operations Command in response to an inquiry from NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune.

Marine Corps Capt. Adrian Ambe, a spokesman for the U.S. Special Operations Command, said the troops aren’t using live ammunition, but he could not confirm whether simulated gunfire has been involved. He said aircraft “and other emergency responder-type equipment” could be involved.

I’m not comfortable with our military using residential and commercial properties in an American city as training.

They’ve built mock-ups of cities out the deserts for decades. Why do they need to use NOLA for training? Are they hoping to garner a real-world understanding of the city for future use?

I hate that I don’t trust our military, but their commanders are making decisions that are clearly questionable and their top commander, the Marxist Faggot, is very obviously bent on installing a dictatorship here in the US.

Its outrageous that they are now training in high density areas like NOLA. Last time I looked the cities in the Mideast don’t resemble NOLA, St Louis or any other American urban area. They are training for us my fellow plebes.
