ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) - Atlanta's high temperature on Thursday was only 73 degrees which is the coolest high temperature on record for August 15.
The previous record was a high of only 77 degrees from 1908.
The average high temperature for this time of year is 88 degrees, putting Thursday's high 15 degrees below average.
Atlanta has seen a cooler-than-average summer due to a lot of rain. We're about 15 inches above average on rainfall this year.
And you can have it. If we are not in a drought where you can’t wash a car, we have floods and endless drizzle. It feels like Oregon here. We came back from Ireland in May (who also had a terrible Spring) and I told my wife the weather was better in Eire.
I have moss on the roof (so I can find north), mold and algae on the deck and stoop, weeds galore and slime mold in the lawn. Lack of sun causing all kinds of issue with the garden. No vegetable for the summer really. Stinks.

95 degrees at 3:30 PM in Pocatello, ID. Daytime temps have been between 95 and 103. Bone dry :-). The window in my bedroom has been open since mid May. Night time temps between 54 and 76. Great Summer...except for an occasional smokey offering from the 310 square miles of burning forest west of my location.
Didn’t get out of the ‘80’s today in SE Texas, which is rare when the sun is shining in August. Wish we could get some of that 73 high temp stuff here. Well, maybe in late September.
Where I am in deep SE Texas, we had 5 inches Wednesday.
Just a few miles away it was only one and a half inch.
That's Texas for you. I've seen it raining buckets across the street from me, but my grass remained bone dry.
global warming is a hoax. now that there is no warming we should call out the media , gov and democrats, every second rub their noses in it.
this is the coldest winter, summer and spring I can remember ever( this year in 2013).
Look up cycle 24 and solar cycle 25 . there is no global warming never was. in fact the Earth will get much colder in the coming decades. we already feel the cold even now.
government and the media have been telling us for 30 years that CO2 is building up and causing global warming. but it hasn’t gotten warmer. government funded 30 years of fake research to create the hoax called global warming. 30 years of gov funding fake studies. this proves socialism/government can never work. now the media and gov use this fake research to further cripple the economy and take away our freedom

CO2 has skyrocketed every year for a the last 300 years
But there’s been NO corresponding warming
And democrats say we conservatives are anti-science lol.
