I don’t understand? If I die on the job, my wife gets nothing from my employer, unless there was negligence involved.

These guys weren’t forced to be firefighters. They knew the danger. They were comic-book heroes in their own minds, even giving themselves a Hollywood name.

Public employee unions are bankrupting the country. They have written themselves huge pensions on the backs of taxpayers who have no say in the matter.

Those government pensions ain’t gonna be there. You can steal all the money and property you please, but the corrupt pyramid scheme is going to collapse of its own weight.

If you are on the payroll your wife should get worker’s comp payout...not sure what their death benefit is now but it was pretty small when I did payroll many years ago...in the 1970s it was about $50,000 and many women did not work then so it did not seem like much for widows with children.

Many people now are considered contractors so I guess they wouldn’t even get that.
