Because Amazon is going to get the same sorts of deal that Facebook and Berkshire Hathaway did. He spends $250 mil and will get back 3 to 4 billion in kickback deals.

Advertisers care about paid circulation. Politicians and men who see themselves as 'movers and shakers' care about political influence. The Washington Post has residual influence.
