That’s CNN’s version. When you listen to the German news it’s a little different. They indeed did have a donneybrook in the bundestag over who was telling/listening/etc to what but Merkel simply pointed out that they needed to know stuff also and the grumbling is dying down fast. The amount of help the Germans have actually been in recent years requires imagination to see it’s significance. Remember they sent five, 5, FIVE airplanes to help us in Afganyland. They sent far more help to Greece than they did to us. And remember they still like our bases there so the notion that they won’t share stories is——what’s the kraut word for bunk?

OK, but how many planes did Canada send?
I’ll take any help I can get and friends wherever I can find them; and not every country has a powerful air force.
This is a serious rift and the current administration owns the damage.
I don’t know how much Germany has helped us or not helped us, but after many decades of working together, should we be so hasty to turn our backs?
Proverbs 27:10 Thine own friend, and thy fathers friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brothers house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.
