As Reagan did when he spoke to the libertarian magazine in 1975 about his conservatism, I assume that you shared some common ground that your libertarianism has with the left when you were interacting with the DUers.

As usual, at least as far as I can see, your assumptions are off the mark. I have been on DU un the past, I have exposed faulty reasoning and incorrect factual assertions there, and pointed out their folly in general. I never said “let me tell you about The Road to Serfdom, and why you shpuld read it”.
No, but I don’t think I could have said with any honesty that libertarianism is the “heart and soul” of the left. Even those lunatics wouldn’t buy that, but you might.
