Methinks, as others have opined, that this is a ruse to convince the public that spying programs are a necessity.

Funny they did not know about Boston, even after they had been warned specifically about the “Brothers” by the Russians.

Did the Russians warn the New York Times that the Boston Globe was a poor investment at the price they paid?

Going down the conspiracy Alice in Wonderland trail, if one looks at all the movies that came out this year concerning attacks on the President, if you are into conspiracies, perhaps you should expect an attack similar to those movie plots. Hollywood is known historically to have numerous CIA operatives.
