Might be something to do with the problems with the Russian Mafia too, perhaps?

On another track, Why oh why release all those murderers, what was Bibi thinking? Any insight? I’m not in Israel anymore, miss it.

On the guns I think it’s simply because the population has grown and there have been a steady number of incidents where people go off the rails and kill someone, but that has always been the case. The level of terrorism is way down. The society is just changing.

On the release of the prisoners, I’m stumped as are everyone. Defence Miniser Yallon made a cryptic explanation: bad choice or worse choice. They are doing this, as it would appear, for nothing, for public relations, to appease Obama, which is a horrendous reason. No one expects these talks to go anywhere especially since Fatah can’t speak for Gaza. The real problem is Iran. It’s possible it ties with a future strike. We will know at election time. Bibi came third a few elections ago because he was over-zealous as finance minister in hitting the poor and did a lot of apologizing to make a comeback. If it turns out this is more bad judgment, the people will punish him at the polls. Bibi is not a capitulater like Barak and Olmert, it’s a mystery why he is doing the release.
