I agree. If I had sounded as if I lamented that fact, that was not my intention. People should not be able to kill simply because they want to avenge a crime committed against them. In the instance I cited of the victim being charged with murder, I guess I would only add that there possibility existed that the robber, now unarmed, would and could want to get the gun back... and then what? We’re left only with speculation without the details of how the incident played out. If the now-disarmed attacker tried to get the gun back, that could easily be considered a new threat that would justify a self-defense shooting. Lacking a threat, the shooting is revenge for the original attack. Sorry if I wasn’t clear in my post.
