I have always loved the Emmy Lou/Gram Parsons version.
I listened to that stuff back in the 70s.
Still do

Welcome back, Kathy!

My phone tells me that it's warmer in Anchorage than it is in Maryland. Our thermometer has been stuck at 69 since about noon. Very wet today - the roads were an absolute mess, but I got both in and out of the city with no problems.

Just mellowing out here after a long day. My last act of the day was to venture out with Daniel after dinner to buy beer. He's content with Heineken. I picked up a sixer of Newcastle Brown Ale, an old fave I haven't tasted in many moons.

Now that sounds like a good end to the week...relaxing with your son.

Sure glad your commute went well.

It is very warm today...83 sitting at my desk, fan blowing.

As soon as I can get a major nose bleed to stop, I’m going to cut rhubarb. I need to do it tonight as I have to work the weekend. It will go to work with me and be delivered on the way home.

Rhubarb? For pie?

Have not had much experience with rhubarb - IIRC the cutting is critical - no? Parts poisonous?

LOL! I haven't a clue. They told me to cut it like celery. It has a HUGE leaf topping each stalk. Cut off top and bottom and then my Mom cuts the stalk into pieces that fit in a bag. That's it! That's all I know. LOL!

The leaves are like a foot across or better.

Stay away from the leaves -- they can be toxic.

But the stalks can be chopped like celery, boiled with sugar (plus cinnamon and lemon juice) and will make a fine pie.

Yes, the leaves - that is my recollection!

It has been many years since I have seen rhubarb - have never grown it in my garden.

Hi Kathy.

You’re so welcome and you’re right — Alaska is hot!

Well, we get those occasional thunder storms, as Pooh Bear might say, “Those little black clouds are following me.”

Have a great weekend.
