In a bombshell announcement, Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop said today that former Gov. Jim McGreevey will take the helm of a city commission dedicated to job creation and training.
McGreevey, 55, who served for two years as governor before resigning in disgrace in 2004, will also create and implement a re-integration program for ex-offenders being released from state prison and county jails, according to Fulop's office.
Gov. McGreevey has worked hands-on with the inmate population and with re-entry programs and will be a valuable asset to us as we develop a re-entry program for Jersey City, Fulop said in a statement. We are fortunate to have such a distinguished and knowledgeable individual to lead what is one of the most critical positions.
The new post, which will come with a $110,000 salary, is another step in the political rehabilitation of McGreevey, who famously came out as gay before stepping down as governor.

I had thought he was studying to become an Episcopal priest.
Night of the political living dead... it’s like a horror film. The zombies keep coming back, with institutional support, no less.
When will Obama come out of the closet?
What kind of “jobs” commission again? Bob
I can see it now. Come to Jersey City, the San Francisco of the East coast. Think of the jobs that could be created with a queer theme park, queer bath houses, Jersey Shore nude bathing and fornicating, etc. A veritable job bonanza.
What kind of ‘jobs’?........
I guess the same job in Camden wasn’t available.
McGreevey has “hands on experience” with prisoners???? Right! Throw the twisted perverted SOB into general population at a maximum security prison for a few months incommunicado (without wasting taxpayers’ money on a salary) and you won’t have McGreevey to worry about any more. At least Spitzer and Weiner appear (so far) to be aggressively straight, if moraklly unhinged. Not so bad as Lollipop McGreevey.
Not to be overly critical but you left out the jobs which will occur among medical personnel in the field of infectious diseases. That should be a real growth industry.
Gov. McGreevey has worked hands-on with the inmate population and with rear-entry programs.........”
They could have one at every I-95 Rest stop in Jersey!.............
Vince Lombardi rest stop stalls will be the first priority
The correct path to follow. Install an idiot to pull the city out of the outhouse.
McGreevey lied continually about using taxpayer money to payoff and support his boyfriends when he was Governor of New Jersey.
McGreevey should shut up and go away.
Both Spitzer and Weiner have been reported to be bisexual. Weiner sent pictures of his weiner to several young girls(and possibly young boys). Weiner is a perverted sicko. Spitzer is a loser who has to spend $10,000 to get laid.
Democrats have no shame.
Do Rat politicians destroy their careers when they get caught doing something illegal?
Why no! They just get a ‘time out’.
Sending McGreevey to prison was like sending him to Club Med. So many tallywhackers and cornholes, so little time.
I bet he has
I understand he couldn't even meet their standards. All that was left for him was a $110,000 spot on the public dole.
OMG!! OUR Government is run by the DEGENERINATE and DISGUSTING!!
New Joisey: home of Snooki, McGreevey, Krispie-Kreme Christie, Sharpe James and the Sopranos. Oh yeah, and a man-eating great white shark that killed 5 people off the coast of NJ in 1916. You don’t need a GPS to find your way through Joisey; the stench from the landfills lets you know you’ve found New Joisey.
Who has that precious pic of him in a pink tutu? Please post it.
He will be fine as long as the men’s rooms at City Hall have glory holes...Otherwise he will have to drive 15 minutes to the Vince Lombardi service area on the NJ Turnpike for a “Nooner.”
Only old school Bensonhurst-types say “joisey.” Snooki and the rest of the Jersey shore cadt were from Staten Island. Most North Jerseyites talk like Anthony Bourdain, while South Jerseyites talk like Chuck Barris.
