DAMASCUS, Syria (AP) -- Syria's embattled president said Thursday that Arab identity is back on the right track after the fall from power of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, which he contends had used religion for its own political gain.
Bashar Assad's comments to the Al-Baath newspaper, the mouthpiece of his ruling Baath party, came a week after Egypt's military ousted Islamist President Mohammed Morsi as millions took to the streets to urge his removal. Morsi was Egypt's first freely elected president.

Just because Mr. Asshat opposes the Muslim Brotherhood does not make him our friend. In this case, the enemy of our enemy is STILL our enemy.
It does make him the Purple Lipped Prince’s enemy, though.
If so, why can't they just move to Saudi Arabia?
But we can still give him an “attaboy” when he deserves it.
Kudos to Asshat aka Assad....never thought I would say that though...may the Brotherhood rest easy in their shallow graves!
He may be our enemy, but so are those who wish to replace him.
In this case he is right. In many cases he is right and he doesn’t go around cutting the head off catholic Priests.
If it were up to me he would stay right where he is.
