I don’t see her as a sympathetic personality. I think she appears angry and aloof.
I am thinking there isn’t a mother out there, including the jury, who would want or expect her son to be beaten until they were unconscious or even dead. I see far more reason for sympathy towards George.
Nor do I. If the jury had some of the back story regarding her apparent abandonment of TM, they would ask to find HER guilty.
