US Marines stationed in southern Europe have been put on alert as a precaution in advance of expected large demonstrations and potential unrest in Egypt this weekend, CNN has learned.
About 200 combat capable Marines in Sigonella, Italy, and Moron, Spain, have been told to be ready to be airborne within 60 minutes of getting orders to deploy, according to two administration officials.
The units have several V-22 tilt-rotor aircraft that would carry troops and infantry weapons to Egypt to protect the US Embassy and American government personnel and citizens if violence broke out against Americans.

The WON is looking to put boots on the soil there to protect morsi and get us involved when it would be easier to just evacuate the embassy. I think obama should go himself. Surely all the rioters would bow before him like the lame black voters have done in the US.
Exactly. The US embassy should have evacuated on private planes a week ago. Send in the Marines to guard the empty complex. Have we even bothered to shred papers or is the usurper going to give them those next?
I watched Bret Baier's hour long "news report" on the "Bengazhi affair" which included visuals of the "CIA annex". Not one word about the function of the annex or any mention of a warehouse filled with US heavy weapons. I'm afraid that the truth of what happened in Bengazhi will never be known.

If Morsi is in the embassy, he will be protected by the Marines...if he is not, he will be on his own. Simple.
If he seeks asylum in the US embassy then he's as much as resigned and the protestors will have gotten what they wanted.
