Pres. of La Raza or CAIR.
What a wishy-washy article based on ignorance. The author won't vote for Rubio to be POTUS (a position he, like Obama, is ineligible for) but he might vote for him in another political capacity.
Rubio is clearly no conservative and, if all things were equal, this would be his one and only term as a Senator. However, it would seem that, irrespective of Rubio's stated party affiliation, Floridians are likely to have another lieberal joining Sen. Nelson to represent them in the Senate.
Good job, Florida!
Rubio is still getting very heated messages on his FB page. There are over 1200 in just one comment section alone. Two other items (dealing with the immigration bill) also are being commented on with one having around 170 and another a little over 400 comments. Total there are nearly 2000 comments with 99% being negative in less than a week.
As I read through a lot of the comments I saw less than 5 supporting him.
I think he is going to have a difficult time overcoming this in the eyes of conservatives.
By the time 2104 rolls around, he'll be in the same age range as these others were when they recently ran for president & vice-president -- Sarah Palin, Obama, Paul Ryan.
Ted Cruz (42), Bobby Jindal (42) & Scott Walker (45) also get thrown into plenty of these conversations.
I missed one section that had over 1,000 comments. A quick stroll through it showed very negative comments also. So in one week, he has had over 3,000 comments with 99% very negative.
If he’s lost the squishies over at Powerline, he is really toast.
I’m not sure he has a future as a local candidate. I would support his catching of dogs, however.
I really don’t know how they expect conservatives to have anything to give them anyway, when they keep supporting policies which destroy the right, or potentially “right-leaning” people, such as competition from illegal immigrants, and more taxes from their paychecks to support these illegals. They’d better somehow get all the votes from all our new “citizens”, because they are destroying their own base to create these “citizens”. The middle class has been their main support, but the wealthy elite and the parasitical bottom classes have teamed up to lean on that middle from both sides. They can’t create that many new wealthy elites, so they have to expand the parasitical bottom to recoup the votes lost from the destroyed middle.
I also think that they don’t care if that middle descends to the bottom-more government dependency for them, so more people voting for more government, and the cycle just feeds on itself.
From what I’ve been reading on FR, he supported amnesty policies both before and after his Senate run. If true, then he did what so many have done-lied for expedience, to get elected to a whole new level, before returning to his real ambitions and policies.
Not with Conservatives. With Republicans and independents, maybe.
Traitored: being promised by a politician, in strongest terms, a specific position they will take upon election, and then doing the opposite upon election. Ex: Rubio traitored his constituency regarding his promise to make securing the borders his first priority.
Primaried: what happens to a candidate when they spit in the faces of those who elected them. Ex: Rubio will be primaried if he ever runs for political office again.
When the current illegals in Florida are legalized, and you add in all of their brethren soon to come, his senate seat is a lock.
Powerline has idiots too...
At least Satan would be honest and upfront in his plans to destroy all that is good.
Powerline is done as a conservative blog. Sorry.
Not “does”, “did”. Don’t these people know how to use proper tense?
GOP voters have a habit of picking big government supporters. Every election, the GOP picks some dude that does silly things.
The GOP is the party of amnesty. So Rubio will be a great candidate for them.
