Jeb Bush: U.S. economy needs immigrants because they’re ‘more fertile’
Washington Post ^ | June 14, 2013 | Aaron Blake

Former Florida governor Jeb Bush (R) argued Wednesday that the United States should pass immigration reform because the U.S. economy needs the labor of young immigrants, and immigrants are “more fertile.”

“Immigrants create far more businesses than native-born Americans,” Bush said at the Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to the Majority conference. “Immigrants are more fertile, and they love families, and they have more intact families, and they bring a younger population. Immigrants create an engine of economic prosperity.”

Bush said immigrants are an advantage that the United States has over China, Europe and Japan, which don’t have the same immigrant tradition and are struggling to find young laborers.

“If we don’t do it, we will be in decline, because the productivity of this country is dependent upon young people that are equipped to be able to work hard,” Bush said.

Bush, whose wife is a Mexican-born immigrant, has long been an advocate for comprehensive immigration reform.

We fought one war to get rid of these elites. We need to send them packing to Canada or back to Europe again.

Just when you thought he couldn’t say anything dumber, he says something like this... and totally redeams himself!

The problem with deportation upon contact with law enforcement is the punishment for murder/rape/theft/robbery/assault/child molestation is then decreased to deportation.

You're right. I should have stated that more clearly. I'd like to see illegals deported upon contact with law enforcement, except in cases of criminal activity.

...a lot of wood splitting by maul and wedge, no powered splitting, and hiking in the warmer months. Up in the mountains is one heck of a great place to stay in shape!

Good for you!

I've been wearing a tool belt and climbing ladders for most of my working life. I still do, though I've got extra hands to help with the work these days. I suppose it's kept me in better shape than I would have been in, otherwise.

My granddad was like that. Even after he retired at 65, he kept busy by constantly working on his rental properties and his home. Last time I saw him with a tool belt on, he was 81.

"This new crop wants us to bend over backwards for THEM..."

"How does it feel to want?"

They can want all they want, but their wants don't affect my intent on what I give them. It is good for them to learn that legal is right, and manners are necessary.

Maybe by then the Rapture of the Church will occur or I will die of old age. Either is better than anything this earth has to offer in the present age and environment.

Bush started the mass spending if my old memory recalls correctly. All Obama did was multiply it by a trillion or so a month.

Jeb got whupped by a Pinellas probate judge, but we should trust him to get in the ring with the leaders of Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, the Muslim Brotherhood, the Saudis, and the UN!

Jebby won’t run for dog catcher. All anyone has to do is bring up the Terry Schiavo murder and how Jebby didn’t do jack.

On the contrary, a fourth generation of Bushes will spring forward on March 4, 2014, with the likely nomination of George P (Jebbie’s son). for TX land commissioner. Thus far, no one will even dare oppose George P!

Well, give him credit for actually letting the true RINO motives slip out. They need lots of drones working to feed the entitlement monster, because RINOs have no intention of fixing that problem and us natives can’t breed fast enough to keep it funded.

I guess Jeb has never heard of the concept of quality vs. quantity, unless he thinks that bloating our rosters with degenerate, illiterate, and often criminal barrio dregs is a net plus.
