After all’s been said and done about the NSA (you can bet the Big Sis too, the same thing) spying on its own citizens, I just can't wrap my mind imagining a Speaker Pelosi would say the same thing under a Repub president.

"What kind of dirt does the NSA have on Boehner, I wonder?"

None..Boehner is a willful, poser, drunken airhead. Airhead is probably too polite and completely inaccurate to describe the polluted brain of a well place, convenient sellout and useful idiot.

If your Congressman is telling you that the Congress does not have the power to cut off funds for a particular activity, then you should vote against him next time because either he doesn't understand the role of Congress or he doesn't feel the need to be honest with you about the role of Congress. A third possibility is that you are just confused about what he's telling you.

The Congress has the power of the purse.

We are way past the awkward stage.

The question remains, will we accept the Soviet State now revealed to us and adjust to the ‘new normal’ - as the “cost” of living in this country?

IOW, do we willingly walk onto the boxcars for the camps they surely are creating for us - or do we do what is necessary to preserve what is left of our liberty and our lives??

If I had to guess, I would say it’s the former.

Until the beer and internet stops, most don’t give a shite.

Until it shows up on their doorstep.

Then it’s too late for them and theirs.

"What I want the government to do is secure the border and stop importing terrorists.

I realize that will destroy their justification for domestic spying but I really don’t care how badly they want their expensive constitution shredder."

AMEN!!

Well, through process of elimination, we can nix option #3. I perfectly understood what I was told, and I took notes.

Option #1 is gone as I was not told that Congress does not have the power to make the cuts. And I am well aware of the role/power of Congress in that regard even though I have no personal experience with the political complexities involved as an elected representative.

Option #2 could be possible - I have not had the pleasure to meet many straightforward politicians.

Right now I am not concerned with Snowden... I am concerned at what he has confirmed. He should seek to come back to America and testify in open session to the House. He should also be offered protection in exchange for his testimony.

screw you GOP, you and your ilk care about attacking this guy while obama and the feds spy on us all, collect our info, follow us, listen in and then make an enemies list and all the time they go to secret courts with secret judges appointed in secret who give secret evidence which we know nothing abut and then they spy on us in secret when we have done nothing wrong but have different views.

AND THIS IDIOT CALLS HIM A TRAITOR

Agree , all this attacking the guy is Alinsky tactics and some on our side are falling for it.

We hear he has done harm to the country, OK what has he done besides telling the world obama and his thugs are spying on us all.

No one can tell me what he has said or done unlike Manning

“And this information has helped us stop countless terror attacks” Oh yeah? Name some. Prove it. The fact that you can’t or won’t reveals much about the agenda. If the NSA isn’t doing anything wrong, what do they have to hide?

Here the government is only collecting information that the phone companies, etc. are themselves collecting. There are people working for Costco who from their records know more about me than anyone at NSA. I have three telephone numbers. I’m sure that NSA and the phone company have records which will show what other numbers have been called with those phones. I have no fear that someday someone either at the phone company or at NSA might (after a wasteful investigation) discover that I called my brother yesterday.

In other words, you have absolute trust and faith in obama.

Did it help locate the American citizen in Yemen or wherever it was so the drone could blow him up? Just wonderin.

It’s not like anyone with a brain did not know that the US government was monitoring electronic communications. It just happens that Americans mostly have trusted that there were people with integrity in charge of handling the information. Not anymore.

Why do we have a GOP again?

To give the illusion of a choice when we vote?

I am 58 and I have seen and paid attention to everything political. When I was a kid, I was watching William F. Buckley skewer the likes of gore vidal on Firing Line.. I have been around the world and have been in some not so very nice places. I have seen things that remind me of what I see in America today. We may get through this but we will not be the same and we quite possibly will never be the same. The people behind the destruction of America are more serious than most Americans that would defend our Republic. I hope enough on our side get their minds right because none of this will be solved easily. I pray for a peaceful resolution but I also prepare for the worst.
