For some really bizarre reason, people in SC don’t know his record. They like all the national attention that he brings to the state.

“Hey South Carolina!

Unfortunately Graham has built-in support (longstanding incumbent) and that means too many people have their hands in the cookie jar.

Basically here in SC, once a congressman/senator is elected, they rarely are voted out (GOP or Dem).

Hollings, Thurmond, Graham, all examples.. not to mention congressmen like Spratt (served until he couldn’t any longer healthwise) and Clyburn.

Governor is a bit more in-flux in recents times, but Beasley wouldn’t have lost to Hodges if not for the Confederate flag issue. Hodges lasted for one term and lost to a strong fiscal conservative in Sanford. Even with Sanford not getting along with a GOP dominated SC House, Sanford won in a landslide for his second term. Haley came in with (R) next to her name and won. Despite her troubles, she will still be favored to win next time in a rematch with Sheheen.
