The deputy campaign manager attends 100s of WH meetings on policy (Zerocare implementation)? I don’t think so. Shulman was a Zero donor (nice going, Bipartisan RINOs who recommended him to GWB for the job).
There are most definitely a significant number of Democrat / leftist operative plants within the GOP. Don't doubt this for a second. There is a pattern. Oppose major Democrat legislative efforts only when the votes are already there for the Democrats. When needed, ‘cross the aisle’ in an oh so reasonable bipartisan manner. When conservatives / Republicans start getting upset about the lack of faithfulness to conservative principles, act like a true conservative on some issues, just to avoid suspicion. If conservatives can no longer be swayed / fooled, only then is it time to change party.
George W. Bush was the stupid, naive idiot who kept Shulman on to bring a “new tone” to Washington.
Yes, Bush picked the guy to show that he was bipartisan. But in all the hearings, the Democrats have gone out of their way to point out that he must be a Republican sympathizer because Bush appointed him.
The worst thing for a Republican to do it try to “reach across the aisle.” It will always come back to hurt them!
