Obama Courts Media Heavyweights
US News & World Report ^ | May 28, 2013 | by Kenneth T. Walsh

Despite his administration's ongoing feud with the media over government spying on journalists, President Obama has accelerated his private courting of selected reporters because he thinks they can propel his agenda and will give him a favorable hearing.

He has met at the White House recently with national security writers and prominent columnists identified by Politico as including Thomas Friedman of the New York Times, Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal, and David Ignatius of the Washington Post. And he has met separately with liberal journalists, including Ezra Klein of the Washington Post and Jonathan Capehart of MSNBC.

This comes at a time when Obama and his staff are experiencing their worst media relations of his presidency.

The problem for Obama is that something fundamental is missing from such "charm offensives," whether with the media or congressional Republicans: real relationships between the president and people who are outside his administration. It will take a lot more outreach to achieve that, and it's unclear to me whether Obama, who is considered aloof by many in Washington, is willing to make the effort over the long term.

Can someone post the graphics of the media “bigs” who are related to Obama’s insiders, including Carney and his wife?

I read on Drudge that the NYT will not meet with Holder in an off the record press briefing.

Like most of us here, I am not one to hand kudos to The Times. But if they indeed are not accepting this invite, I will offer a “well done”.

And any media outlet that does meet with Zero (now Bulls-eye) or Holder “off the record” is complicit in a conspiracy as far as I am concerned.

Ezra Klein is Obama’s Goebbels. Disgusting for a Jew to imitate Nazi propagandist.

The ingredient missing from his charm offensive is "truth."

These media big shots have an inflated opinion of themselves which Obama flatters by singling them out for attention, but it must be hard for him to hide his contempt for them--after all, he's so much smarter than they are, or anyone else is. Plus they've worn kneepads for him for five years so he can't have a high opinion of them--did Clinton have a high opinion of Monica Lewinsky?

Is there ANY evidence team 0bama was spying on the AP? I've seen documents relating to the spying on James Rosen at Fox but what about AP?

Could it be that the spying was limited to Fox News for the same reason the IRS was targeting conservatives?.. As part of 0bama's overall game plan of destroying his opposition; the Tea Party and Republicans???

Where's the proof of the spying on AP? I think that's a red herring that was thrown into the mix for the purpose of deflecting from 0bama's administration-wide assault on ONLY conservatives.

Looks like a list of willing participants in conspiring to aid and abetting Treason.

They are not journalists. They are politicial mouthpieces of the Nero cabal.

Not to worry.

If the Washington media doesn't step up, Hollywood will.

...Thomas Friedman of the New York Times, Gerald Seib of the Wall Street Journal, and David Ignatius of the Washington Post...

(shrug)

What's Ubama need to "court" that pack of liberal Democrat scumbags for? They've alway been deep in his pocket and always will be. They didn't work so hard to get their African communist elected just to turn on him over a bunch of sleazy scandals, eye-rolling incompetence, and a few expendable American lives. I mean, it's not like any of them will ever ask Ubama where he was for eight hours while a couple of heroic SEALS were waging battle and losing their lives waiting in vain for help.

Sheesh.

Obama, who is considered aloof by many in Washington

Obama continually shows his contempt for the press. He expects them to serve him gladly, and he gives them little or nothing in return.

Clinton held daily parties for the press at the White House, and brought in Hollywood starlets and high society to mingle with his media guests. Lots of free food and plenty to drink. He really treated them well.

Obama has regular parties at the White House, but he NEVER invites the press. They are basically for him, and maybe Michelle, and a few donors. And word about those parties rarely gets into the news, so most people don't know they are happening.

It surprised me that after experiencing the Clinton treatment, the press was willing to accept Obama's contemptuous treatment and still faithfully do propaganda for him.

I guess their commitment to Communist ideology trumps all.

You are right, there isn't any. Like you said it's a cover for them to make it NOT appear they are only going after conservatives. Go to the Head of the class!

It will do him no good—for to long they have proped him up—his own ego and corruption has pulled him down. Once the dam breaks its over.
