Jacksonville, FL — It's going to take police some time to sort out everyone involved in a big fight in Jacksonville Beach on Memorial Day. Police from Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach, and the city of Jacksonville assisted Jax Beach police in shutting down streets to avoid retaliatory attacks.

Police Chief Patrick Dooley tells our partner Action News nobody was seriously hurt. "We're just trying to keep people from gathering up in large groups again. What we don't want to have happen is any of these people involved in the fights earlier to come back in any kind of retaliation or anything like that". Police closed 1st Street from Beach Blvd. to 6th Avenue North for several hours as a precaution. Police tell Action News several smaller fights quickly escalated and became a large brawl involving about 30 people.

Action News obtained the video posted on Facebook of the brawl at the Sea Walk Pavilion. Crowds of people are also seen running away from the violence.

We spoke with Sgt. Tom Crumley around 9:30am Tuesday. He says as of right now, there are no arrests directly tied to the brawl, but the investigation is still in its early stages.

Abe Lincoln woke up from a 3-day binge and said, “I did what”?

What language was that heard on the video?

LowIQish. I hear it spoken in much of central Maryland all the time.

Some things are not going to change no matter what part of the country/world you are in.

I used to live in Atlantic Beach.

I went back this spring to look around the little beach towns and walk on the beach. This same exact area.

This area is now even nicer than when I lived there. How on earth could something like a riot happen there? Who would riot? At the beach? And why?

I looked at the video. All my questions were answered.

I plan to move to Atlantic Beach(Fleet Landing) when I sell my place here in Maine. Shop and gym at Mayport NS too. I hope to avoid JAX and its bad hoods and beaches.
