It used to be. Blue states are now voting for it. Red states like NC are still resoundingly defeating it.
I cannot think of another issue that seen such a sea change in a few short years. Unfortunately, those of us against it stopped fighting about 5 years ago because preserving marriage looked politically settled. The proponents of change went into overdrive starting with the H8 campaign in Califoria and really moved the needle...making it a ‘civil rights’ issue. Our side needs to learn lessons from this situation because I think we laughed off that stupid campaign and didn’t take it seriously.
Not completely correct. Back in 1994 the largest demographic cohort was just entering kindergarten (from the Ger: child garden - where the state grows children).
What we’re watching is that demographic’s brainwashing coming to fruition.
