PORT ANGELES, Wash. -- Witnesses say a man upset with his neighbors went on a rampage with a bulldozer-like piece of logging machinery in a Port Angeles neighborhood, damaging four homes and knocking out power to thousands of people.
The Clallam County Sheriff's Office says it does not appear that anyone was injured during the incident that happened just after noon Friday along Pioneer Road. The suspect was arrested.
"A person with a piece of heavy equipment that was very upset, struck (four) homes in the area and also a truck," said Jim Borte with the Clallam County Sheriff's Department.
Keith Haynes lives near one of the damaged homes and told the Peninsula Daily News the man took a piece of logging equipment called a skidder and "just went nuts."
Haynes said a woman inside one of the homes escaped unharmed, and the other home was unoccupied. Haynes said the houses were demolished.
Haynes said a new Ford truck also was damaged in the incident.
It was like a war zone, Haynes, a former law enforcement officer who has lived in that neighborhood for two years, told the paper.
Here also is a report from The Peninsula Daily News, a local paper serving Washington's Olympic Peninsula, where Port Angeles is located:
now THAT is an opus!
Time to require a background check for bulldozers and limit them to 7 somethings or other.
lol and here i was saying just the other day the things ya see when ya aint got yer bulldozer
I would have just shot his dumb arse.
That'll buff out.
That’ll buff out.
Ban bulldozers..if it can save one house from being demolished by a nutcase it will be worth it..for the children
Dang, I hope he wasn’t a Tea Partier.
It’s time to develop plans for 3-D printed bulldozers for when they ban them.
Note to reporter. That is so ‘bulldozer-like’ it IS a bulldozer.
I thought he was talking about a Skidder till I saw the pix...
Don’t even piss off a heavy equipmet operator! I have had those thoughts but never acted on them! Esp when the home builder stiffs you for 10k!
Music too loud?
I knew of a man that had a wrecker service business and his daughter’s boyfriend beat her up so bad, she ended up in hospital. Well...this man found the dude’s truck at some bar but could not find the dude, so he hooked up his truck and dragged it up and down the highway until it was literally shredded.....lol.
So does homeowner insurance cover this ?
Ok, that's four.
Haynes said a woman inside one of the homes escaped unharmed, and the other home was unoccupied.
Well, that accounts for two of the four.
Did the other two just evaporate or something?
This occurred about 4 miles from my house. My power was out for about an hour.
I know this lowlife jerk and his family. Word is....he was upset because he couldn’t get help for his meth problems. Well, he is going to get all the help he can handle now. LOL
But for the grace of God, nobody was killed in during this tantrum.
IT'S THE PEOPLE, STUPID. "Gun control" is something only dumbass Nazis do. It should never be allowed to happen in America.
7 quarts of petrol?
Tracked skidder. They come in different sizes and shapes.
beat me to it
True. But thats a dozer in the pic. Look at the blade. Granted, Dozers are used/rigged to skid too. But that’s a dozer.
Now THAT was a fun movie back then - I have it somewhere

Thanks for brightening my day.
7 liters to be consistent.
This reminds me of a Family Guy episode, except it was a tank..never piss off a dude with heavy machinery
A little bondo....awesome bumper guard on front—not a scratch on it!
This jerk made his living in doing low end logging jobs. Most of his equipment is junk.
FWIW, this happened about 4 miles from my house and I have known this meth freak for decades.
LOL..I love that story too! He left the shredded car in the bar parking lot..drove to the police station to turn himself in and the cops sent him home...lol. They did not do a thing to him...small town.
Lucky you ;)
We had a couple like that back in the Adirondacks before the Enviros put 99% of every logging business OUT of business.
>>Now THAT was a fun movie back then - I have it somewhere<<
Why buy it? I guess you can LIVE it!
(I loved it too — D9 is NOT to mess around with!)
Surrenity now! Surrenity now!
Tanks are tough to get but the local rental yard can fix you up with a 890 that will wipe out a city block!
One more thing. I might wait a few days and call his lawyer to see if I can get a steal of a deal for that machine. I’d have fun with it on my property and then quick sell it. If I get it, I’ll take better pics and post ‘em.
I love playing in the dirt. ;>)
Do it! Paint a FR logo on it and repeat his fun on a lib house or two...wait...maybe not...but it WOULD be fun ;)
“My old man is a television repairman, he’s got this ultimate set of tools. I can fix it. “
LOL! Good ol’ Marvin. He was a few pistons short of a Caterpillar, for sure.
Yes, it would be fun.
I think that guy always planned to kill himself though, because he welded himself into the contraption, with no way out.
MSNBC will now lead with this thread as an example of Right Wing violence and terrorism plotting...;)
IIRC, it took quite an effort to cut into that thing.
You just have to shock out the electric blue alien entity that jumped out of the rock into the D-9 blade and took over the whole bulldozer.
But, hiding in a corrugated pipe is a really, really, really bad idea when the D-9 is after you.
See, it is really simple.
