I have been in Mexico on Cinco de Mayo. It is not celebrated down there. Cinco de Mayo is a day like any other day in Mexico. They have a huge celebration and official holiday on September 16 which is their independence day. Cinco de Mayo was practically invented by an American beer distributor who needed to move his inventory of Mexican beer.
Many of the bars in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, celebrate Cinco de Mayo, I guess because we are the largest ‘American’ city in Canada, with about 70K US citizens. Unfortunately, most are Dhimmicrats!
My former employer used to have business interests in Mexico and I met a Mexican engineer who had moved to Canada. One of the Canadian Veeps, who’s addiction to beer is surpassed only by his adiction to money and power, invited any and all to a bar to celebrate this ‘holiday’. I asked the young Mexican engineer about celebrating this ‘holiday’, and it was news to him. He celebrated the Mexican independence day in September, but said he knew none who celebrated this ‘holiday’ in Mexico. Purely an American invention, pushed out to the world like some sort of St Paddy’s Day booze up!
