A species needs to eat.

Vultures are only interested in dead bodies and pose no risk to live animals.

These vultures convert farm animals into dead bodies.

Same problem here with progressives. These vultures will eat anything dead or dying.

From what I've been reading about these vultures, dead isn't all that important. Apparently they will attack and eat living livestock.

Bunk

Here in Texas buzzards will go after a cow that is calving and kill both cow and calf.

Vultures will do the same.

Too much Animal Planet for you. Like carnivores everywhere, vultures aren't as picky as they are billed. Many vulture species are quite willing and certainly capable of killing in order to eat. New born animals that are slow to get moving fall into their meal plan.

>>>”pose no danger to live animals”>>>>

That is not true. When we have calves born in the pasture, vultures will come for the afterbirth and finish off the calf by first pecking their eye balls out. My husband shoots every one he can. Usually just shooting at them will make them move on to the next pasture, They are not stupid.

The farmers are reporting seeing them harass and kill livestock.

A species needs to eat.

Indeed.

We used to have only turkey vultures in NJ. Black vultures have moved in and will attack newborn calves and lambs.

Vultures prefer dead animals. If hungry, they will attack any immobilized creature. If really hungry, the animal need not be all that immobilized.
