After President Obamas upbeat speech in Mexico on Friday, many in attendance said they were flattered by the description of their country, but others said they hardly recognized the place he had just described.
[That was] a really good speech by President Obama, but what Mexico was he talking about? said Jose Carlos Cruz, 24, a graduate student in international relations. Unfortunately in our country, the situation is terrible: Theres poverty, unemployment, and even worse, the future is anything but promising.
How nice that he came to give inspiring speeches, but whats happening in Mexico is far from what he talked about today, Cruz said.
Alberto Rios Lara, 26, who is studying to be an economist, said: Obama is a great speaker its really impossible not to feel excited. However, the reality is different in Mexico. We need more action and fewer speeches.......Rosa Castro, a 43-year-old college professor, said that the upbeat tone sounded curiously similar to the messaging of the new government, which has been seeking to downplay the issue of violence and drug cartels in favor of a narrative of modernization, reform and economic growth.
My question is: Who wrote Obamas speech Enrique Peña Nietos team? Castro asked. Obama is fantastic, but I believe that today, he was talking about another country, not ours.

If Mexico is so Bitchin, why are so many Mexicans running away? Typical slimy Obama, say whatever you think people want to hear even when everyone knows he is lying!
Other than the "That was a really good speech" part, that same comment could have been made in the United States: "Unfortunately in our country, the situation is terrible: Theres poverty, unemployment, and even worse, the future is anything but promising."
the mexicans even know this guy is all icing and no cake.
The scary think is that Obama looks at Mexico as a model for where WE should be.
Ten minutes to discover what American morons still can't come to grips with after five years..............
A President that goes to a foreign country to bash his own is truly a man without a country. Blaming American drug use for the Mexican violence was a hoot coming from him— bashing his own supporters, no doubt, in many of the precincts where Romney didn’t get a single vote.
The Dreams From His Father left him reality challenged. The Mexicans needn’t be offended-Barry has no better understanding of the USA.
Did Obama wish Mexico a happy cinco de quatro?
>>[That was] a really good speech by President Obama, but what Mexico was he talking about?
He was talking about “Mexico In California”, the California of the Reconquista.
Or like most stupid liberals, he sees a nation of non-white people and thinks that it’s heaven on Earth. They visit Cancun or Acapulco and think the whole country is like that.
The best thing about Obama destroying western civilization is that it will be fun to watch the liberals when they have to start living in a very real and very brutal world after America is gone.
Maybe our media could take a lesson.
Wow! un-freakin believable.
The Mexicans don’t know how lucky they are having a country in decline right next door that has a retarded president and is begging them to send all of their poor, criminals, murderers, rapists and child molesters to their country.
Mexico has been a mess since the Aztecs. After they got their “freedom” they have had one revolution after another, one maniac “president” (dictator) after another
As for that dirty bastard Obama the sooner that piece of crap is impeached or leaves office the better off America will be.
Travelling down there and trashing US - Unheard of before by
a president. He’s a black racist Muslim bastard who hates whites, Christians and America.
I’d forgotten it too. Lol.
The Mexicans know they live in a failed narco state.
Mexico is a piece of cr**. The government is rotten and so are the people. They only see our money.
Brown icing on a cardboard cake.
