North Caucasus rebels (terrorist) deny link to Boston attack: website

MOSCOW, Russia — A website used by Russia's North Caucasus rebels denied Sunday any link to the deadly Boston Marathon bombings that have been blamed on two ethnic-Chechen suspects.

"The command of the Vilayat Dagestan mujahedeen... declares that the Caucasus fighters are not waging any military activities against the United States of America," the Kavkazcenter.com website said. "We are only fighting Russia, which is not only responsible for the occupation of the Caucasus, but also for monstrous crimes against Muslims," the rebel site said.

Media reports in the United States said the FBI was studying possible links between the two main suspects -- brothers Dzhokhar and Tamerlan Tsarnaev -- and the Caucasus Emirate movement led by feared warlord Doku Umarov.

Monday's double bomb attack on the Boston Marathon killed three people and wounded about 180.

Dzhokhar, 19, is in serious condition in a Boston hospital following a massive manhunt on Friday in which Tamerlan, 26, was killed.

The media reports said the US authorities were particularly interested in the Vilayat Dagestan offshoot of Umarov's group.

Dagestan is a neighbouring republic of Chechnya with a large ethnic Chechen minority.

Actually, this is a good thing. The Taliban, North Korea, and now these murderous clowns all deny involvement. And, oddly enough, for once none of them are (probably) blatantly lying.

And this means something. It means that vicious, terrorist, and evil organizations are half scared to death by the US when it exerts its wrath.

Credit here to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, and their War on Terror, and in particular to the Pentagon, CIA, SOCOM, the NSA, FBI, and all the assembled other agencies, Americans and allies.

Because of 9-11, the US has killed some 100,000 Iraqis and 100,000 or so other Muslims. The “best and brightest” of Sunni Muslim terrorism in much of the world.

We wiped out the fourth largest army in the world, and today we don’t even wait for them to come to us, but our robots silently visit them at night, leaving smoking craters in their wake.

There is no place to hide. And importantly, they know it.

Excerpt:

Yet the media commentary, even if it grudgingly mentions these things, internalizes none of them. “How shocking it is,” we’ve repeatedly heard, “that the brothers Tsarnaev want to mass-murder Americans. After all, they’re Chechen Muslims, and the Chechens’ beef is with the Russians, not us.”

Good grief. It is the Uighurs all over again. You’ll recall the Uighurs — they were a group of Turkic-speaking jihadists from the Xinjiang region of China, detained at Guantanamo Bay because they trained in Afghanistan with an al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist organization (the East Turkistan Islamic Movement). At least some of them fought against American forces. Nevertheless, we released them. Stroking its bloated chin, our government rationalized that they could not be enemy combatants because they weren’t our enemies — their beef was really with China, right? After all, Islam is a Religion of Peace and we’re very nice people, so why should we assume they might have a problem with us?

We are in a war driven by ideology. “Violent extremism,” which is the label the government and the commentariat prefer to put on our enemies, is not an ideology — it is the brutality that radical ideologies yield. Our enemies’ ideology is Islamic supremacism. To challenge and defeat an ideological movement, you have to understand and confront their vision of the world. Imposing your own assumptions and biases will not do. Islamic supremacists do not see a world of Westphalian nation-states. They do not distinguish between Russia and America the way they distinguish between Muslims and non-Muslims. Their ideology frames matters as Dar al-Islam versus Dar al-Harb: the realm of Islam in a fight to the death against the realm of war — which is everyone and everyplace else.

The fact that you think this is nuts, or that I’m nuts for saying it out loud, has nothing to do with whether they believe it. They do — and they don’t care, even a little, what you think. You do not defeat an ideology by hoping it will change or disappear.

After all, they’re Chechen Muslims, and the Chechens’ beef is with the Russians, not us.”

Three chechens were arrested in France last month on a foiled terrorist attempt. Americans are mostly clueless on this. They're chechens and these are a few of their favorites things - gore, violence, killing, and especially blowing things up.

It really is just about them being who they are and doing what they do. If you look at their websites, you can watch hours upon hours of them blowing things up, and listen to their gutteral satisfaction expressed as whatever it is goes boom.

Probably on a par with ‘our glorious leaders’.

We are to ‘believe’ the FBI has had the older brother under scrutiny for 5 or so years, yet they apparently had the opportunity to mingle and go about their business.
Either that or the sweep prior to the run was not done properly.
I saw all the LEO types lined up for their ‘just rewards’, where is the alert CITIZEN who, when finally released from ‘house arrest’ (ok, I may be somewhat exaggerating) spotted the boat cover and eventually the guy hiding out in the back yard.
IF the citizens of Watertown were still under ‘house arrest’ the guy would probably still be out there.

Like the DC Bushwacker(s), they were chased around the area for days by every imaginable ‘bureau’ in the Metro DC area and yet, an out of state over the road truck driver was the one that ‘spotted’ them and other truckers succeeded in blocking the entrances/exits while waiting for the Police to arrive. If I remember correctly it took some 45 minutes for a ‘sufficient’ amount of Police to arrive - yet there is a ‘City’ AND a State Police Barracks minutes away

Well, FBI needs to move away from reactive to predictive. How many so far that tout "never again"? Then again, who knows what goes on in the secretive behide the scenes.

All that you said in your post is right on target.

That said, at some point these terrorist groups will figure out Obama and they won’t be afraid of the USA anymore.

I completely agree with your analysis. Though I want to add that I totally believe that they were working with someone that shared their belief in world domination of Islam.
