Sen. Lautenberg Wants Background Checks To Buy Gunpowder

WASHINGTON, D.C.—In the wake of the deadly bombing attacks in Boston, U.S. Senator Frank R. Lautenberg (D-NJ) today announced that he will reintroduce legislation he has proposed in a prior Congress to require that sales of explosive powder be subject to a background check. He will also file the legislation as an amendment to the gun violence prevention bill currently on the Senate floor.

Current law allows an individual to purchase as much as 50 pounds of explosive “black powder” without a background check, and also permits an individual to purchase unlimited amounts of dangerous “smokeless powder” and “black powder substitute” without a background check. Sen. Lautenberg’s proposal would change that and require a background check for any purchase of these explosive powders. These powders can be used as the explosive material in assembling pipe bombs, used in the Columbine school shooting, and pressure cooker bombs, which may have been used in the recent Boston attack.

The bastards would love to do away with cash.

All transactions would run through a government computer and cross referenced to their files on the purchaser at the time of sale.

Black powder FFFG is around $20 a pound right now. Look for the price of it to skyrocket soon.

“Lautenberg undoubtedly intends to institute background checks for anyone wishing to eat beans, for fear of the explosive outgassing.

Except for members of congress, of course, who clearly eat beans every day - and without any background checks or permits.”

The gasses emanating from the beans unfortunately come out of the wrong end...

It could have been black powder or black powder substitute. It could have been tannerite (exploding targets binary explosive - legal). It could be a homemade explosives and those are not difficult to make. Gunpowder functions as a high explosive when confined or initiated with high energy.

We can’t make the world bulletproof and government can’t fix the evil in the heart of man beyond removing evil from society. Too many Americans fail to grasp the truth of that statement.

If you’re in one of the freak states, might want to think about moving.

We used to worry my husband might get transferred to Arizona. Now we HOPE my husband gets transferred to Arizona.

I guess if the dead can vote, they can also submit legislation.

“Was black powder used in this bomb or is Lautenberg just tossing shit in the game.”

Lautenberg’s blabbering and thus we know he is talking sh*t.

That is what he does - and, he is good at it.

Okay, tinfoil hat time? Article at Hotair.com mentions 4chan users who are connecting the dots about the Boston bombing. It says NewsJunkie has many more of their pics so I go look. through the pics and I find one that contains the following text, near as I can make it out. Sorry I can't seem to get a link to the pic but you can follow the Newsjunkie link then scan the pics:

WARNING: Laws being written to screw you.

I work on a security commission and and I've just received word to start campaigning on a campaign we've been working on for the last two months and now it all makes sense.

I'll keep it as short as I can.

They're going to pin this event on a male, late teens to early 20s and say he did it because he's unstable. They are going to find firearms and a NRA book in his home. They are going to say he used reloading powder for the explosion and that reloading powder shouldn't be for sale to the public. They are going to say that because the powder in ammunition can be used for explosions that the number of rounds you can buy should be limited and taxed to help pay for these events.

I can't do anything or I'll lose my job and possibly face criminal charges. They won't find the suspect till later this week and the raid is issued to occur on Friday. This was a staged event. The people hurt are real but the event was planned. Don't let them hurt our rights.

I'm at work so I used a copy of a picture torn from another thread. Also please don't mention me. It will seriously hurt me.

Sheesh. Gunpowder was invented over 1000 years ago. Probably around the time that Lautenberg was born.

The ingredients for making it can be found in any decently equipped home-supply/hardware store. So he might as well try chasing rainbows, if he thinks he can control it through a background check.

Lautenberg does not know his chemistry. The bombers don’t need to buy gunpowder, they can make it in the kitchen. They can make some even more potent stuff using hydrogen peroxide. If Lautenberg had triacetonetriperoxide (TATP) or hexamethylene triperoxide diamine (HMTD) for brains, he wouldn’t have enough to blow his nose.

How about background checks on everyone entering the country? But, that would require the government to actually keep up with who is entering the country...
