Boston Marathon Bombs Have Hallmarks Of "Lone Wolf" Devices, Experts Say
http://www.cnn.com/ ^ | April 17, 2013 | Tim Lister And Paul Cruickshank, CNN

(CNN) -- The devices used in the Boston Marathon attack Monday are typical of the "lone wolf:" the solo terrorist who builds a bomb on his own by following a widely available formula. In this case, the formula seems very similar to one that al Qaeda has recommended to its supporters around the world as both crudely effective and difficult to trace. But it is also a recipe that has been adopted by extreme right-wing individuals in the United States. The threat of the "lone wolf" alarms the intelligence community.

FWIW, I heard Rudy Guiliani tell Sean Hannity that he suspects the bomber/terrorist(s) are homegrown, not foreign. I don't recall that Guiliani said Moslems, but I think he had Moslems on his mind.

RedMDer usually watches Hannity. Maybe he saw that particular show and can add more or correct me.

The WH can control the federal assets assigned to the case.

My bet is that it’s Rachael Ray - “30 Minute Bombs.”

“For that matter, I don’t recall a bomb being used by an American that was directed at “soft targets”...”

His name is Eric Rudolph.

Richard Jewell is deceased, so they can’t blame it on him this time.

Find a white guy, doesn’t matter if its real, CGI, drawn by Disney or Japanese anime, just get the MSM hooked on right wing terrorists.

I'm very sad to say this, but that is believable, in this stage of our country with our current leaders. We are communist bound, and it's all over but the shooting.

“Who knows at this Point” You are right, it seems nobody knows at this point and everyone involved is very determined that whomever it is does not damage their political agenda. This is absolutely the wrong approach to take regardless of ideology.

There are people posting in other threads about Saudi looking men in the crowd who must be responsible just because they look middle eastern and are seen in the crowd. I have lived overseas and know what it feels like to appear suspicious to others because you stand out as a foreigner. This is not the way to solve a horrendous act of terror.

Truth is it could be anyone....even a marathon volunteer, but limiting one’s investigation to those people to whom we are biased against may very easily allow the real killer to go free.

End rant.... may God Bless America

Maybe it’s someone with a grudge against John Hancock Financial Services. I found an angry web-page called John Hancock Insurance Hates Working Parents. The unsigned author got laid off after 22 years. John Hancock is the main corporate sponsor of the Marathon and its name was plastered all over the Finish Line area.

Waiting for CNN to blame Alice Cooper

Blue Turk
Alice Cooper

I’m lazy, you know it
I’m ready for the second show
Amazin’, thing growing
Just waitin’ for the juice to flow

But you’re so very picturesque
You’re so very cold
Tastes like roses on your breath
But graveyards on your soul

I’m hurting, I’m wanting
I’m aching for another go
You’re squirming wet, baby
Nothin’ bad comin’ very slow
And it’s burnin’ holes in me

You’re so very picturesque
You’re so very cold
It tastes like roses on your breath
But graveyards on your soul... whoa-oh

One spastic explosion
Two pressure-cookers go insane
It makes me act crazy
I shiver but I love this game

You’re so very ordinary
You’re so very lame
Tastes like whiskey on your lips
And earthworms rule your brain

I watched and that is exactly what he said. He also said “he has a hunch” and that’s what he would be looking at.

Except for the “two of them” thing. Getting one bomb in by yourself is hard enough.

Reminds me of "crew served" weapons in the Army, spare barrels, tripod, belts of ammo. Those pressure cookers had nails and bearings in them.

George Zimmerman is out on bail; maybe the Obama / Holder Justic Dept. will pin the blame on him.

Equally important, a seven quart pressure cooker. I have a seven quart crock pot that's about fifteen inches long by 8 wide, by nine or ten deep. That size pressure cooker is going to be at least ten inches in diameter. Filled wiith explosives and shrapnel it's also going to weigh a good deal.

I am surprised that they still make pressue cookers since we now have crock pots.

Fire extinguishers are prohibited for air travel...I guess pressure cookers will also be banned now.

"“Lone Wolf” = Muslim terrorist but we don’t want to say that."

Ditto. "Patriot's Day" is not a big deal anywhere other than Massachusetts. Besides those who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan, who has heard about pressure-cooker bombs before this? There was one used in the 2010 Times Square bombing but details about it are always buried deep in the story. The fact that both of the bombs detonated and no duds were found suggests that the bomber knew what he was doing, and that suggests more knowledge than might be found reading a recipe from the internet. (Remember how Bill Ayers' friends blew themselves up in 1970 building a bomb in Greenwich Village?)

My $0.02. If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck...

I’ve followed the news for decades, and I don’t recall a “pressure cooker bomb” ever being used by an American. For that matter, I don’t recall a bomb being used by an American that was directed at “soft targets”...

Can someone correct me if I’m wrong.
