Did any body else notice a slow down or difference in the internet this afternoon before this happened...maybe up to a couple hours?

I did. Just before all those AM radio stations in Seattle went off the air.

Am still wondering if this is a McVeigh type thing or not....because the internet was funky hours before he did his deal.
