Simply not true. Bush pushed for amnesty hard in 2006 an d 2007. In the Rep controlled Senate oin 2006, an amnesty bill, Hagel-Martinez was passed with 32 Reps voting against it, but 23 voted for it. The only reason it was stopped was the House opposition led by Sensenbrenner. Technically, it was never taken up in the House because the Senate bill contained appropriation legislation that had to start in the House.
In 2007 we had McCain-Kennedy that was pushed heavily by the WH. They tried to get it passed by bypassing regular order. We are seeing something similar this time.
Just like so many issues championed by the left, they never give up until they achieve their objective. They want amnesty and will do whatever is necessary to get it. The left has been successful on implementing the gay agenda and are well on the way to getting their gun control agenda passed. It will be piece by piece until they destroy the country.
