It's so much easier to say “gay” than “homosexual,” but there's nothing gay or merry about homosexuality. Homosexuals and the PC police are irked and insulted whenever “gay” is used in the pejorative, --- "how GAY is that," or "stop acting so gay," --- but I don't they they can have it both ways.
These people are not only redefining words, they're trying to redefine marriage, family and God; i.e. "God makes no mistakes."
