REad the article. The response they are talking about is how FDR didn't listen to the pleas of Jews seaking refuge from the Holocaust, the thought they were whining.
Bottom line is that FDR is far from the man the Left has always portrayed. You know what makes me sick? Take a trip to DC and see what president has by far the most extensive memorial.

I did read the article, but this “tepid response” bit has been used in other context as well. FDR was no saint that’s for damn sure, but the left loves the SOB don’t they.
