"My budget will reduce our deficits not with aimless, reckless spending cuts that hurt students and seniors and middle-class families – but through the balanced approach that the American people prefer, and the investments that a growing economy demands," said Obama.
"Now, the truth is, our deficits are already shrinking. That’s a fact. I’ve already signed more than $2.5 trillion in deficit reduction into law, and my budget will reduce our deficits by nearly $2 trillion more, without harming the recovery. That surpasses the goal of $4 trillion in deficit reduction that many economists believe will stabilize our finances."
Obama is here referring to our yearly deficits, not the sum total of our debt, which is growing at an astonishing pace.
The truth is, our debt continues to grow.

Assume that the DoD's budget will stay at the surge levels in Iraq and Afghanistan for the next ten years as your baseline budget. Then claim that ending the wars are a budget cut. Presto, trillions of dollars in savings. Of course no one ever assumed that the surges would last very long, much less ten years but making that assumption gives them a big number to wave around.
It's like having a diet where I don't eat Thanksgiving Day dinner every day for the rest of my live. Presto, 2000 calories a day cut which should mean a 4 pound a week weight loss. That's 208 pounds a year.
George Will compared it to saving trillions of dollars by canceling NASA's plan to cover the moon in yogurt. Never was such a plan? Doesn't matter, it will be a huge savings.
Increasingly, zero displays why he wants a research project underway to map the brain (something that was accomplished decades ago, BTW). He's hoping that, given sufficient funding, they may be able to find HIS brain!!
He wants to try to find out what produced the brains of the zombies who voted for him so he can try to make more of them.

You told two lies there, Obastard. My favorite lie was the one he told to Congressman Bart Stupid about writing an EO to stop the government from forcing companies with religious objections to pay for abortions. We all saw how well that worked out.
