Tampa A man living in New Port Richey, Florida, phoned into the nationally syndicated Schnitt Show [Click Here for Audio] after he was dismissed from nursing school, all because of a gun app on his smart phone.
During a routine break in a five-hour long sociology class at the Ultimate Medical Academy in Tampa, 33-year old Dan, who has asked that his last name be withheld, showed his recently downloaded Gun Club II app to a fellow classmate. The app supplies detailed pictures of various firearms, and produces the sound each gun makes when you hit the screen. Dan says the sound effects are not realistic.
Dan and his buddy shared a laugh over the wimpy sound, and returned to class for the remainder of the lecture without incident. That was March 20th.
The next day, Dan showed up for class, and was escorted to the office of the Director of Education, who informed Dan that a female classmate had complained to their Program Director that she felt threatened by the app, and that she had reported Dan was threatening other students with it. Dan was told not to return to the campus pending the outcome of an investigation.
School officials proceeded to talk to some other members of the class, and on March 25th, Dan was dismissed from the school entirely, just three months shy of completing his two-year registered nurse program. School officials maintain that Dan violated three different student conduct rules: He exhibited conduct that reflects unfairly on the school. He instigated or participated in rebellious activities. He made physical or verbal threats. At that point, he was told he could appeal the decision, or he could just hang out and resume his studies in the next session
Dan is a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served five years until his honorable discharge in 2004. While serving our country, Dan was part of the very first deployment of troops to Afghanistan after the attacks on 9/11. He was also part of the second deployment to Iraq in 2003. He broke Naval records by serving 159 days straight without touching land. He was awarded numerous medals and commendations, and while serving, Dan had top secret clearance from the Pentagon.
Now, because of a complaint by one student over a phone app, Dans nursing future is in turmoil, and the $40,000 he has spent on his registered nursing education may have been wasted.
The Schnitt Show attempted to reach the Ultimate Medical Academy for comment, but phone calls have not been immediately returned.
Dan has retained legal counsel to explore all his options.

She felt threatened. By an app. I’d laugh if this wasn’t just so incredibly stupid and inane.
Ultimate Medical Academy? Sounds like a joke.
He can move to PA & attend the nursing program I went to .....small town, heavily conservative, and PRO-LIFE!!!
This is what we get letting women have too damn much say in the society.
I hope Dan sues the crap out of that so-called nursing school.
And that silly b*tch who complained.....someone so scared of her own shadow should not be a nurse.
The incident highlights two things about college nursing programs. One, colleges will jump at any opportunity to bust students out of the program. They make more money by forcing students out because the college collects tuition in advance, and they have a waiting list for the nursing program. No downside. Two, nursing students are incredibly competitive and will stop at nothing to get ahead of their fellow students. Especially the politically incorrect students.
Sue the school, sue the snitch and most of all extract as much money as possible from these assholes.
Florida ping
Dial 911 right away and tell the cops she had heard this guy playing it and laughing about it and was therefore afraid he was actually going to go out on the streets and race around in his car and kill someone, maybe even her?
It's that ridiculous.
