I know nothing of Jesuit schools but I suspect that a high school diploma for your father was equal to a current doctorate in liberal arts or a master’s at least.
My mother was salutatorian of her public high school graduating class in 1933 and she was far more educated than any recent recipient of a bachelor of liberal arts degree. By the way she finished high school at 16 years because there was no twelfth year then. She turned seventeen in the summer a few weeks after her graduation. I read some of her old textbooks and they were not easy by any means.
Since libs believe it’s OK to stick anything anywhere at any time, they won’t be likely to oppose that activity.

When the barrier comes down, it clears the way, not for something else, but for everything else. The trickle will become a torrent.
The good news is that lowering the barrier will only hasten the day when society hits the immovable object. Until that day, society will not even begin to recover.
