Twitter prays for Kevin Ware after horrible leg injury

Louisville sophomore Kevin Ware was taken from the court on a stretcher after a serious leg injury this afternoon during the NCAA Midwest region basketball final.

It is terrible to see this happen to anyone, let alone an elite athlete in his prime.

There is nothing to do but pray and hope this is not as bad as it looks:

WARNING! Extremely graphic!

Louisville player Kevin Ware breaks his whole leg on bad fall!

He’ll get top care.
They took him to Methodist Hosp, which made its mark patching up injured race car drivers.
They have some ortho studs.

Not to be snarky

I know student atheletes have a 'prima domma' aura, but the vast majority never make any money from sports. My daughter played at the college D-1 level, and has been playing professional ball in Europe for the last two years. It has not been easy for her.

yes, there are many such accidents in amature sports that never get reported.

I don't think you understand the effort that goes into college sports.

What god does Twitter pray to?

Gaia? or perhaps Caliph Baraq?

When it first happened, his teammates didn’t notice. As theyibegan to take the ball out after the basket they looked for him and saw him laying there just out of bounds with his leg in an unnatural shape then cringed and turned around then gathered. His teammates all went over to help lift the backboard.

No, the headline states that an Twitter which I believe is an app can actually pray. I question the ability of smart phone applications to pray.

I don't care to see it.

Prayers for the young man and for his life after basketball.

I don’t think it takes all that much bravery to play D1 basketball. JMHO.

Prayers up, indeed, and I can identify as well. Had a bone cyst and broke my femur twice before I was 14.

The first time was only hairline fracture, so 2 months in body cast only.

The second time (three years later) was a complete break ... 5 weeks in hospital with pin thru knee, then another 7 weeks in body cast. Then re-learning to walk again.

Tutor came to house so I could keep up with my studies. Really awful going to bathroom. Had to use bedpan the whole time. Embarrassing.

Good.
I only watched it once, it seemed they turned around but after your explanation that sounds more plausible.

Yea, how cute of you.
Twitter can also refer to the people who tweet.

It does if your coach is Bobby Knight.

Just amazing, that it was the precise angle and force to cause the break, a matter of a millimeter one way or the other, and he probably finishes the game. Normally you would expect the ankle to absorb most of the shock, but it even was too much

It was horrible..it was Theismann like break

For me, the worst was Dave Dravecky....that was horrifying, especially since there was no contact involved.

LOL that’s certainly true.
Many former Knight players around here and they all seem regard him warmly.
Much like Woody Hayes in that regard.

You’re so correct. It would take more bravery for most guys in D1 college basketball and football to actually delay gratification, study hard, learn to read, write and speak at a 12th grade level and attempt to have a career that has favorable odds for success and self-sufficiency.

I think it's because Hayes and Knight in many cases were the only father figure a lot of those kids had in their lives.
