Although they have gotten better, rim fires still aren’t as reliable as center fire. At least in my experience.
I have a 35 year old S&W 22 revolver. I’ve never had a failure to fire with it. I have had them when using semi-automatics, so I’m guessing some semi-autos aren’t hitting with enough whack, to use the technical terms...
