That’s a real obit, isn’t it? Yes, the New Orleans Times-Picayune has run an amazing number of similar ones, too. One that I recall was for a slightly older deceased "entrepreneur" (read: drug dealer) whose children all had automotive names. Fiero, Camry, Tercel, etc.
Even funnier, though, were the two memorials that were printed on the one-year anniversary of a man's death. The first used his given name, William, and featured the same photo that had been used in the obit the prior year. The usual "Missing you terribly, yada, yada" - Signed, loving wife and children. Right below that memorial was a second one, featuring an "out on the town, partying" photo of the same man, identified as "Willie", written by another woman who missed him terribly and had apparently been with him, uh, at "the end".
I'm pretty sure I still have a clipping of that. I remember reading it at the office and circling both of the "In Memoriams" in yellow highlighter, then leaving the page on my boss's desk. He laughed so hard I was afraid I'd have to call the paramedics.
