By my observation, the single woman at age 35 who has given birth to at least one child in her 20's is a far more sane and stable human being than the single woman at age 35 who has never done so.

Interesting observation, but may actually be true. Another strange thing- it now seems that if you get married in your 20’s you and your husband are expected to wait ten years or so before having kids- you know, save money, work on careers, etc... If your are single and in your 20’s however, it is almost expected that you will have a child and no one thinks anything about it.

Lotta truth there, but I think it is relative. The single mom having seen the grungy side of parenting appears a lot more mature than the 30-something with the ticking biological clock. Also the younger mother has life after motherhood to look forward to. She can even go clubbing with her daughter within a decade.
