OK, I have written my federal and state elected officials that I am against the unviersal background check and told them why I oppose this law that will do nothing to decrease gun violence.

I really believe it will not decrease gun violence.

.....but.

Having said that some of the amendments I saw being proposed a week ago, reduced my level of concern significantly about such a law. (I said reduce not eliminate.) I also was discussed when I found out that prominent gun rights groups like the Second Amendment Org were willing to go along with both state and federal universal background checks if certain provisions regarding destruction of records were included.

The reason, I bring this up is the set of words in the article, “...”This bill as amended strikes an important balance between ensuring that the bill reduces the number of guns in the hands of criminals while allowing all law-abiding citizens to purchase the guns of their choice,” state Senator Morgan Carroll said following Senate approval...”

Anyone have the full text.

Having opened myself up and been candid, I would now like to urge everyone to write to their federal Senators and House members and urge them oppose any gun control laws, such as Feinstein’s so-called assault weapons ban, high capacity magazine ban, and the Chuck Schummer universal background check legislation.

So in what way does the bill reduce the number of guns in the hands of criminals?
