Rick Perry did not appoint the Texas Board of Ed. It is elected. Get your facts straight.

The governor's office has no control over the education system in TX?

The TX School Board members are elected just like Rick Perry and the curriculum falls under their responsibilities.

Rick Perry (or whoever is gov) doesn't choose or have anything to do with the text books used in Texas, either.

Having said that, I live in the TX school board district that the burkas were worn in...Lumberton ISD. The board member who was re-elected last Nov. doesn't live in that school district and homeschools his kids.

He should be paying more attention to the office he ran for! It seems strange that he would be so concerned that he would homeschool his kids and runs to be on the TX School Board but ignores what he campaigned for.

It isn't Rick Perry's job!
