But there is no control over private corporations if they control education.

Huh? It is astounding how my people have no true understanding of Capitalism.

For decades government at all levels have been relentlessly attacking the market system. Apparently they have you believing government "must" be involved in our education.

The answer lies with understanding what true Capitalism brings to a free people.

I suggest you read Milton Friedman book, Free to Choose It is a great read.

If overnight all government schooling ended, free people would develop programs and schools that would deliver vastly superior education over anything ANY government system currently offers.

Over a short period of time, people would quickly "learn" which schools offer quality education. People would vote with their dollars.

Competition for consumer dollars would drive all schools in the marketplace to continue to deliver quality, else they go out of business.

Government schools with their systems of tenure, union infestation, idiotic school boards and numerous other Statist garbage have absolutely NO pressure to deliver quality.

Idiots like Bush43 offered up another wasteful Statist solution-- no Child Left Behind.

Governments control 90% of our K-12 educational system. The progressive teachings have been infesting our citizens since the late 1800s.

The sole purpose of government schooling is to prevent the teaching of critical thinking skills and to put the utmost effort into brainwashing students into believing the the government is the source of all good and that obedience to government is the duty of all.

Any one who believes that government should have any role in education is a devout enemy of Liberty.

After reading "Free to Choose," my friend and I started a school choice non-profit. We received a letter from Milton Friedman, wishing us "good luck in your endeavor."

I still have it... somewhere.

Don't hit me. I already slapped myself.
