I am sad too.

I just wish things in Venezuela had degraded enough so that his dirty rotting corpse would have been drug through the street.

Will the Phelps family from the Westboro Baptist Church fly down to picket the Chavez internment......or do they reserve performing their trademark gig at cemetaries when fallen American heroes are laid to rest?

He must be really surprised that George Bush isn’t there and by the annoying smell of barbecued flesh all around him.

Oh, and for those of you who have seen Joe Kennedy’s “Call Joe for Oil” commercials in the Boston area, I wonder what Brainless Joe will substitute for “Our Friend in Venezuela”?

Leftists just can’t help themselves.....they never met a murderous dictator they didn’t love.

That’s true only with heavy manipulation...and believing the Chavez regime’s insanely false figures.

When Chavez took over, VZ was one of the largest exporters of food in LatAm. Now it IMPORTS all of its basic foods. That was the result of the expropriation of the large agribusiness lands, their redistribution in little plots to peasants (urban ones, at that), and massive corruption.

I keep hearing today that he was a friend to the poor and that the poor people of his country all loved him, that according to CNN Doug Brinkley.

I knew about his oil for poor New Englanders in the USA, but always thought it was more political than it was concern.

I am not convinced that he looked after everybody in his country,I thought some of his own people suffered while he gave oil to Kennedy in NE, was he truly a benevolent Dictator???

He kicked the bucket a long time ago. They just couldn’t figure out how to admit it, or when. There were big riots yesterday in VZ, and I guess they finally figured they couldn’t stall any longer.

This calls into question the legitimacy of the current government, and the Venezuelans are definitely going to challenge it. They don’t have any other charismatic dictators backed up, although, like Fidel, Hugo has left a brother behind him (who was supposedly the radical leftist brains behind the Chavez operation, although not somebody who could have garnered any support on his own).

“On the 60th anniversary of the death of Joseph Stalin.
Sort of like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams dying on the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.”

Since word was out days ago that Chavez was dead, it is likely that he was either stone-dead or brain-dead for days, and they waited until a date of some significance arose before it was announced.
