Sounds like the interview didn't go that well.
Before your next interview, write down a half dozen reasons why you would be an asset to the company you are applying for. The company you are interviewing for is looking for the person that can make them the most money and cost them the least money. If you have a unique skill set, then make sure you emphasize that. If you have a good reputation in the industry, then make sure you drop names of those that the company may know about who will vouch for your reputation.
Get prepared. Find out everything you can about the company and what they do and who you know that works there. Then figure out what individual assets that you have that you can bring to that company.
Trust me, if the company thinks you can make them money, they will overlook all the little foibles in your life. If they don't think you can make them money, then they will look for any reason they can to end the interview.
It is all about making money. Once you realize that fact, and the interviewer knows you understand that fact and are willing to do what it takes to achieve that end, then getting hired is not all that difficult of a proposition.

You don't know how many people I've seen in my business who have destroyed their own chances for career advancement in their professions by suing their employers.
A word to the wise. If you are going to continue to post on Free Republic, make sure your posts are consistent with the principles of limited government, original intent, Natural rights, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, i.e., having a government that will just leave people the hell alone.
Your first posts here were not consistent with those principles. FWIW, you are not alone. There are a lot of conservatives who become liberals when their own ox is gored. But even Jefferson was a bit of a hypocrite when it came to the defense of individual liberty. That didn't mean the principles he espoused were any less valid. It just meant that he was an occasional hypocrite. We all have that tendency, and when our ox is gored, we all have the tendency to react with the phrase "there ought to be a law." Well, as you discovered when you were discriminated against because you smoke, when you say that, then there probably already is a law.
IMO there ought to be a lot less laws. And I am a lawyer. My ox is fed when they pass new laws. Every law they pass is a full employment bill for lawyers. The more laws they pass the more money I make. But that doesn't mean I favor any new laws. We have enough. We have too many.
Good advice, and also a good thing to give young (?) conservatives a chance to figure out what exactly it is that they believe.
So, FreedomStar, there is such a thing as too much government. Conservatives favor limited government that is limited to those actions that governments tend to do better. Protecting life/liberty/pursuit of happiness: Defense, foreign and domestic, social and economic, and adjudication. I add transportation and highways to that list, but some don't, but I have no problem with individuals owning toll roads/bridges. It's just too big and expensive a project even for a corporation, anymore.
Conservatism also supports retaining the positive values that have been revealed to humanity over the eons by Nature's God.
It seems anymore that as soon as discussion of God enters the conversation that many modern conservatives become humanist libertarians.
