I don't have the facts on this but on the face of it if I were a criminal looking for tools to assist in my lawless pursuits I wouldn't be buying in US gun stores (not enough firepower), I'd be looking for FA weapons which I could easily obtain from non US sources with money from my pockets made deep by drug money.

But that's just me...if I were a Mexican criminal.
