Not true. There is no promise that the civilians will be paid back pay.
There are quite a few younger employees, some with new children. Losing 1 day a week of pay is going to be a significant hardship for them.
You really don’t have any idea what you are talking about do you? This isn’t a government shutdown. There will be no “backpay” for the furloughs.

A furlough is a furlough. It’s 1 day per week for 22 weeks. That is 20% of my husband’s pay and NO THEY WILL NOT GET IT BACK. There will be no back dating as people will be forced to take the day off.
Maybe everyone here thinks it’s great but I can tell you that we cannot afford to lose 20% of his pay. Now if the government or some other employer said take a 10% pay cut or lose your job that would be different. 20% is a lot.
I’m so glad to see all these conservatives here dancing and thinking this is great news. Please explain that to my husband. I’ve been laid off and now we lose 20% of his pay. Sure he gets an extra day off a week - big deal, we need the money.
