A CNN anchor has asked on live television whether a meteor hurtling past Earth might have been caused by global warming.
Deborah Feyeric made the faux pas when she transitioned from a discussion about global warming and the blizzard that struck to east coast into a a segment about Asteroid 2012 DA14 - which is projected to pass just 17,200 miles from Earth on Friday.
'We want to bring in our science guy, Bill Nye, and talk about something else that’s falling from the sky, and that is an asteroid,' Feyerick says. 'What’s coming our way? Is this the effect of, perhaps, global warming? Or is this just some meteoric occasion?'
Nye, who has an engineering degree from Cornell University, tries to cut Feyerick off before she even finishes asking the question.
'No, no, no,' he says.
For a moment, he fumbles to answer the ridiculous question.

The sketch above with COMEDIAN Bill Nye as 'Speed Walker' is hysterical...the theme from the opening of 'Superman III' playing as Nye searches the stadium for the bomb...the Michael Keaton parody at the two-minute mark: 'Who are you???"..."I'm Speed Walker" as he pitches the mad bomber off the roof of the Kingdome. ROTFLMAO!
The REAL story here is that someone at CNN (not Comedy Central, CNN) 'green lit' this interview in the FIRST place. Brain-dead journalist interviews comedian with delusions of grandeur about asteroids and global warming? CNN should issue an on-air apology.

Bil Nye “the Science Guy” hasn’t worked in science or engineering for well over 20 years.
He has been an entertainer almost twice as long as he was an engineer. As best as I can tell, he has a job because he wears a bow tie and his last name rhymes with “Guy”.
Too bad Bill Nye “the Useful Liberal Idiot Guy” isn’t as catchy.
Global warming also caused the Big Bang.
